Are you looking for a good 3rd person shooter game?  Do you want the fun of being randomly matched with other players from all over the planet to form two squads and tactically win? Games like these are now very common, but Tom Clancy serves action in a silver platter.
Tom Clancy’s: Ghost Recon: Phantoms is a great game that would pump up your adrenaline and burst you brain cells with all the possible tactics that would lead to your group’s victory. The objective o f each match is simple; capture more points or all the points that the opposing side has and defend it, all before the timer runs out. You get to choose from 3 character classes to choose from, each with a arsenal of gadgets and weapons to use; namely: support, assault and recon.

The assault is the tank of the group; it has high health and armor and can take up a beating.  It can use a thermal suppressor gear or a shield similar to a tank’s hide to push out the enemies out of the nests and cry out to their mothers for help. The thermal suppressor radiates heat to enemies, rendering them useless for a limited length of time. The shield on the other hand plows enemies on its path and pushes them out of the way to give other teammates the chance to raid the point and capture it.

The recon is a special type of character; it has low health but has high critical rates, making it an effective killer. The recon can use the scan or cloak as their gadgets each of which has a different use. The scan is a gear for a team playing recon. It reveals the location of all the enemies within the gadget’s reach; enabling all of you to know what position to raid and how to raid the said posts. The cloak gives you the ability to be invisible for a very limited amount of time giving the recon the chance to kill everybody inside a certain area and give your team the tactical advantage.

The support (my personal favorite) is a team player; it’s a well-rounded character and can be grouped with other players, either assault or recon to give your push more power. The support can use the APS or the blackout; which for me are two essential gears for pushing to points. The APS is a projected shield than can be charged and deployed to deflect projectiles, such as bullets of all known calibers, excluding grenades and explosions. The APS is also an AoE gadget, so it can cover you and your teammates for a tactical push. The support can also use blackout; this gadget causes all electronic devices, including corsairs and gadgets of the opposing team to crash for a short while; this makes them vulnerable and easier to get rid of when you need to recapture a post.

The game is action packed, but the key to winning this game is tactical force, not barbaric foolishness. You and your team must act as one to reach the goal. But some are too slow to comprehend the meaning of tactical conquest, this leads to the demise of your own team.

But this game still has a flaw. I've played it for a month now and I have noticed that if I play more than one game a day I get disconnected in mid match! It might not be a big deal, but as a gamer with the high needs for speed to cope up with the players who rely on me for support. I know that it’s not my internet connection because I play other games as well but never experience any problem in connectivity with them whatsoever. I have been searching the internet for other users experiencing the same problem and they have proven my theory to be a fact.

Aside from the fact that it disconnects you in mid mid-match, the game is still really good. As a final judgment, this gamer’s eye rates this game 8 out of 10. That’s all for not geeks! GEEKOUT!
