GAMER EYE: Destiny Review

I know that all of you gamers out there have already played or at least heard about the game “Destiny”. Destiny is a RPG, FPS/3rd Person war game which involves finishing missions and leveling up. The game was made by the guys who brought us the HALO franchise which makes us expect so much out of it. The story line of the game is pretty much a cliché for all of us and I’ll leave that for you guys to find out why.

The game has 3 character classes to choose from; the Hunter, the Titan and the Warlock classes. Each of them has their own set abilities and attributes but the players will still have the same weapons except for the grenades. You could also choose from 3 races: the Awoken, Humas and Exos. The characters are also costumizable so it would be easy for the players to immerse themselves in the game.

There are also 3 gaming experiences that you could try: the campaign, crucible and strike missions. Everybody knows how the campaign works every game has one of those; strike missions on the other hand is the co-op version of it. The crucible however is the multiplayerarena that will be unlocked after you have reached level five. However, all of these gaming modes will require you to be connected to the internet, even the campaign mode. The campaign is also disappointing; all of the missions are redundant which makes you feel like playing candy crush on steroids.

The enemies disappoint me though; compared to HALO’s AIs, the enemies on Destiny act like retarded twins of Timmy from South Park. They have very obvious range and area restrictions and they do not have complex reactions and battle sequences. The bosses also have very predictable move sets and they all have the same models with very few differences in color and sizes.

Over-all, this game’s game-play is terrible. The only good points it has are in the field of character customization, the crucible and the 3rd person view. The graphics are also excellent, but it still went to waste because of its boring and redundant game experience. The GEEK’S GAMER'S EYE WOULD JUDGE THIS 5 OUT OF 10.
